Rancangan Wadah Buah Tomat Untuk Menahan Getaran Selama Transportasi Berbahan Eceng Gondok dan Pelepah Pisang
Abstract
Faktor kerusakan buah tomat selama kegiatan transportasi antara lain dipengaruhi oleh besar kecilnya frekuensii getaran, dan lama waktu selama transportasi, sehingga dibutuhkan penanganan untuk dapat mengurangi kerusakan yang terjadi. Penggunaan bahan pengisi dari kombinasi serat eceng gondok dan pelepah pisang sebagai peredam getaran pada kotak kayu sebagai wadah tomat digunakan pada penelitian ini. Penelitian dilakukan dengan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) terdiri dari dua faktor dan tiga level yaitu frekuensi getaran (3, 6, dan 9 Hz) dan lama waktu (120,150,180 menit). Penggunaan bahan peredam tersebut mampu mengurangi kerusakan mekanis selama simulasi transportasi dengan nilai persentase kerusakan sebesar 16,1566% pada frekuensi getaran 3 Hz. Begitu pula nilai susut bobot, tekstur, kecerahan, warna merah (a), dan warna kuning (b) buah tomat terbaik juga diperoleh pada frekuensi getaran 3 Hz masing-masing sebesar 3,5993%; 0,1287 kg/mm²; 31,77; 17,71; 18,75.
